The Wayne State University Anthropology Museum is produ to present their newest exhibit Constructing Identities: An Exhibition About Things and How They Make Us Who We Are. This new exhibit explores the emerging field of Design Anthropology and the various ways people use things to construct their personal identity.

WSU faculty and students from the Department of Anthropology, the Industrial Design program in the Department of Art and Art History, and the Institute for Information, Technology & Culture have teamed up to create the show. In it, three specific brand identities are highlighted: Starbucks, Harley-Davidon, and Adidas. While people choose particular products to make statements about themselves, products are designed to choose particular kinds of people as well.

The exhibit open Friday November 21st at 5:00pm and continues through April 2009.
