As a self-supporting service of WDET-FM at Wayne State University, DRIS strives to remain fiscally viable by raising its operating funds through private donations, restricted projects, grants and contracts. Your donation will help DRIS produce and air 8,760 hours of programming a year and distribute radio receivers to new applicants.

Individual Support
Donations from individuals make up a substantial portion of DRIS annual revenue and your personal gift is very welcome! You can help to reduce the amount of personal taxes you pay on an annual basis by making a donation to DRIS. DRIS is a 501 (d)(3) charitable organization through Wayne State University and all contributions are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Your contribution may also qualify for a 50% Michigan tax credit for support to "higher education" and/or credits for support to a Public Broadcasting service. Please check with you accountant to determine how you can receive the greatest benefit for your situation.
Annual Campaigns
While you can support DRIS anytime, there are several annual campaigns that make giving easy, including direct-mail, Phonathon calling by Wayne State students and special events. We hope you will the method of giving that works best for you.
Matching Gifts
Many employers will match gifts their employees make to charitable causes, including higher education. Contact your human resources office for more information and to obtain matching gift forms. If your company does not offer such a program, consider becoming an advocate.Planned Giving
A planned gift is an irrevocable or revocable gift. It is a creative way to give, using many different types of assets. A planned gift can include a charitable remainder trust, a bequest (through your will), pledge of cash, charitable gift annuity or gift of real estate.Corporate Sponsorship

Program underwriting on DRIS can help build name recognition, consumer interest and loyalty. By underwriting on metro Detroit's only radio reading and information service for blind and print-impaired residents, you can reach an audience you might otherwise miss using conventional advertising or publicity. The DRIS audience will hear your announcement regularly and will associate your business as being supportive of the aged and people with disabilities.
