Berlin Wall Anniversary, Channel 4's Rhonda Walker - Link to Audio
What’s the future of development in Michigan? Does it include large-scale mass transit? Green building techniques? Those are the questions being addressed today at the 23rd Annual University of Michigan/Urban Land Institute Real Estate Forum . We’ll talk with featured speaker & 2010 Michigan GOP primary gubernatorial candidate Rick Snyder.
Channel 4 anchorwoman Rhonda Walker is one of Ambassador Magazine’s 2009 ‘Ambassadors of the Year’ for her work inspiring young girls in Metro Detroit. We’ll speak with her and Ambassador Publisher Denise Illitch.
In honor of Veterans’ Day we’ll speak with Attorney Thomas Campbell. His firm, he says, handles fifth highest caseload of issues involving veterans of any firm across the country. He’s been working on the case of a local veteran who died because of an overdose in 2006 despite the VA acknowledging that he was suicidal.
Under the tutelage of Robert Bobb, the Detroit Public Schools just released an audit report with the district decreasing its deficit by nearly $90 million dollars. Mr. Bobb will join us to discuss whether this is a sustainable trend.
All that, plus we’ll look at how an unemployment extension bill might lead to some cozy corporate perks, dig into the local implications of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall, continue our week-long series on Dow Chemical & dioxin contamination, flip through the Metro Times’ music issue with Bill Holdship & more!
