A coalition called A Better Future for Michigan says that Michigan’s tax structure is out of date, and taxes need to be raised to balance the budget.  Dawson Bell from the Free Press Lansing Bureau joins us.

An ex-Toyota lawyer recently filed a lawsuit alleging Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc . withheld evidence in rollover death and injury cases.  Paul Eisenstein, Editor of Detroit Bureau, speaks with us about the lawsuit.

African American Family magazine has changed it’s name to BLAC, an acronym for Black Life, Arts & Culture.  Editor Lori S. Robinson tells us about the change.

Yesterday, U.S. representative Gary Peters held a press conference at West Bloomfield High School for health care reform.  It appears this time the hundreds of people who attended were divided about the idea of restructure.  Peters talks with us about the meeting.

Our Hannan House series, focusing on oral histories from senior citizens throughout the region, continues.  This segment focuses on the volunteer work of seniors in the area.  Child development expert Dorothy Kispert has lived in Detroit her entire life. After working with numerous organizations... including the Detroit Zoo, the United Way and her church's outreach program... Dorothy Kispert can attest to the power of personal connections through volunteering.

Photographers from all over are drawn to Detroit, presumably because of its crumbling infrastructure.  We’re going to have a round table to discuss the pros and cons of this attention.  Steve Perez, staff photographer for the Detroit News of 14 years, Geoff George, local independent photographer , and Sean Galbraith, Canadian photographer , all join us.

A Lifetime Achievement Award has been given to broadcast veteran Specs Howard. He speaks with us.  

To wrap up the show we'll hear from Metro Times Editor and radio jazz host W. Kim Heron about the upcoming Detroit International Jazz Festival , as well as his Metro Times cover article .
