Michigan Gas Prices Fall
Mar 26, 2008
Automotive & Business

Michigan gas prices are down 8.2 cents per gallon from last week.  The statewide average is 72 cents lower than last year at this time. Triple-A Michigan spokeswoman Nancy Cain says crude oil prices have dropped from record highs.

“The crude oil prices drop down at the 100-dollar range and just last week it was over 105…106 dollars so right now supplies are looking a little bit better and crude oil price have been coming down.  And also the dollar…the American dollar has gained a little bit in the world market.  So…those things are helping to increase ample supplies and thus decrease the price.”

The most expensive gas in the state is $3.44 per gallon in the Marquette area.  The lowest price is $3.16 in the Lansing area.  Detroit motorists are paying an average of $3.26 per gallon at the pump.
