Metro Detroit’s religious community says its working together to help those hit hardest by the economic crisis.
This week eleven leaders from the Christian, Jewish and Muslim communities met for a discussion at Detroit’s Sacred Heart Seminary. They say they plan to coordinate among their faith communities fine the best ways to assist those in need. At the same time, Archdiocese of Detroit leader Cardinal Adam Maida says helping to keep the auto industry solvent is very important.
"The alternative is not only unwise but unthinkable. If nothing is done one can only image what could happen to all of us who call this corner of Michigan home."
The ecumenical group is imploring the faithful to pray for the decision makers and the needy.
