The Kresge Foundation has announced the return of its artist fellowship awards. WDET's Amanda le Claire has more:

Artists living and working in Metro Detroit can apply for the $25-thousand dollar awards. The Kresge Foundation...working with the College for Creative Studies....will focus on artists working in the literary or performing arts. Michelle Perron... Director of Kresge Arts in Detroit...says by awarding these fellowships...the foundation hopes to have a long term impact in Detroit.
"To create this community development effort to strengthen the long-term economic, social, and cultural fabric of the city. We've seen even in the first year, that its happening."
Applications for the Kresge Fellowships are now online. The Foundation will announce 18 winners next June. I'm Amanda le Claire...WDET news.
