Gas Prices Reach Yet Another Record
May 5, 2008
Automotive & Business

For the third consecutive week…gasoline prices in Michigan have set a new record.

Detroit Public Radio’s Quinn Klinefelter has more…

The auto club Triple-A Michigan finds the price of gas is one cent higher this week than last…reaching a record statewide average of three dollars and sixty five cents a gallon.

For Detroiters like Arnold Blair…the best option is often…simply staying home.

”Way it is right now I can’t really afford to drive that much. It’s just not worth it…y’know…money-wise and my budget just won’t allow it.

QK: “Does it come down to where you have to worry whether you’re gonna drive or your’re gonna eat?

Blair: “No…I’m gonna eat first!” (fade laughter under following voice link)

Triple-A officials say the average gas price is  nearly 50 cents higher than it was this time last year.
