Representatives of a Kurdish man who was deported from Michigan say the federal government is pursuing a vendetta against his family.
WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter has more…
The case stems from a deportation order entered against Ibrahim Parlak…who had quietly owned and operated a Kurdish café in the small Lake Michigan resort town of Harbert.
Immigration authorities said Parlak had ties to a terrorist group.
Hundreds of residents in and around Harbert rallied in support of Parlak…his case gained media notoriety…and he was eventually released from custody…though the appeal of his deportation is still pending.
