Detroit's newspapers will offer fewer days of home delivery at a time of slumping revenue industrywide, and a union official says they also plan to cut 9% of their work force.

Teamsters' Local 372 secretary-treasurer Ron Renaud says it's not clear where the cuts will fall at the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News. He spoke after a meeting Tuesday with Detroit Media Partnership executives.

The Free Press will be delivered Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays starting in March.

The News will be delivered Thursdays and Fridays. Only the Free Press publishes a Sunday paper.

The papers still will be printed and sold at newsstands. Readers also will be able to get a digital edition.

The Detroit Media Partnership runs the business operations of the papers.
